or they have somebody else writing the story now.
I know you said you were mostly kidding but... yeah? I know this probably isn’t the case but I feel like this could explain how absolutely awkward certain things have been. The Ohu Army, while always having questionable actions at times, seems to have gone down the drain in this story in particular. They’re much more bitter, leaving injured old dogs and pups by themselves when they clearly need some form of assistance (excluding Unsai who seemed to stay), Kyoushiro just becoming downright horrid, even Weed acting incredibly calm/almost not at all to Orion running away (this one might end up just being a “he has to learn how to take care of himself, he’ll be fine” or something foolish like that but you’d think that someone who just lost a son only months prior would be a little more upset at having another son run away, and even more so alarmed that they ran away because their brother died. It felt robotic almost... And while I think Weed especially started taking the back burner back in GDWO and especially TLW he’s just incredibly devoid of any proper emotion most of the time when we see him now. It’s like someone who doesn’t know these characters or their values suddenly started writing it, and while that’s probably just Yoshihiro forgetting what the characters stand for or otherwise it’s still just weird that Kyoushiro has become THIS aggressive, and that Ohu dogs would leave two dogs (especially an injured elder and puppy) in distress.
Don’t get me wrong though, I’m REALLY still enjoying GDN. But some things like character personality and actions are feeling so out of place that I really do wonder if Yoshihiro is even writing it anymore. I did think it was strange how quickly the series came back after we all thought it was going on hiatus for a while (potentially, but not confirmed
, due to his tendinitis). But who knows, really.
