I do agree with most comments saying that the dogs probably ate him, but I can't imagine that meat tasting very good

Humans could have taken the body away. Or The dogs probably ate Akakabuto's flesh. Can't let that bear meat go to waste. I'm curious on what happened to his bones though.

How about others bear? I didn't read the manga so.. :c but I think people took his body and taxidermy him as a reminder of beast in mountain.?

I'd say it's most likely the dogs ate him. I guess Gohei would think that the dogs deserved to keep the body and do as they pleased with it. Plus, humans were not permitted to step in Futago Pass anyway.

I now wish too that they kept at least the bear's skull, like come on! A trophy of your greatest battle, against your greatest enemy, but you kept NOTHING?
I also liked the idea of his pelt being kept by the dogs. I think they would've placed Riki to rest on it.
