Re: Ginga Densetsu Noah in Finnish
This volume had... unusually many typos in character names, when usually the amount is zero.
"Gohō Takeda, who trained me as a bearhound, was hospitalized. That's when I joined the stray dogs of the mountains..."
"Ben's [or "Beni's"] home was in Kyūshū."
"An army led by Hakuro came to our aid from Hōkkaido.", when it should be "Hakurō" and "Hokkaidō".
On the very next page, Hakurou's name is spelled correctly again.
"I'm Hakurō of Kitami!"
Then there's this weird bit of inconsistency concerning previous translations, where the harpoon bear is referred to as "punaturkkinen paholainen" ("red-furred devil"), which is a literal translation of "akage no mashou" (赤毛の魔性), which is what Gin originally called him here. But in Meteor Gin, "akage no mashou" was translated as "harppuunakarhu" ("harpoon bear").
"[They were] Fierce beasts, like Mosa, Madara, and the Red-furred Devil."
This isn't necessarily incorrect, but again, it is inconsistent with previous Finnish translations.

I don't mostly like the word choises this new translator uses, but Gohee shouting "Perkele!" is so damn fitting!

Agreed! If there ever was a character in Ginga who would use that word, it would be him.
And I also don't like the word choices Taavi Suhonen uses in his translations. I know in Japanese swearing is very mild compared to some other languages, but also after +10 years of having the "damn/darn/shoot" level of profanity in the Finnish translation this sudden change just keeps throwing me off.

Sounds kinda appropriate for a tipsy veteran hunter who has had back and forth with the same bear for almost a decade.

Re: Ginga Densetsu Noah in Finnish
It was announced on Sangatsu Manga's website earlier this month that the Finnish translation of GDN would continue "soon". The lack of updates regarding new volumes was due to Sangatsu Manga moving to another parent company, which naturally caused some corporate bureaucracy that had to be dealt with (including discussions with the Japanese publishing companies over the Finnish publishing rights of their series going from the old parent company to the new one, but apparently GDN is in the clear on that front by now).

Anyone know why the next volume is taking this long to come out?

I assume it has to do with the stuff I mentioned in the post right above yours.

Re: Ginga Densetsu Noah in Finnish
Apparently we might finally be getting some news about the future of the Finnish translation sometime soon-ish? Hopefully?
(blurred stuff related to other series because it's irrelevant to GDN)

Comment taken from here.Noah: The agent (ie. the middleman who handles relations between H-Town [new publisher of the Finnish translation] and the Japanese publisher) promised to finally get a move on. We're hoping for the best.

One day it will continue but for now the future is uncertain. I personally I am interested whether the series will continue after Noah

Is there any place to get earlier released volumes? I noticed Fantasiapelit sells Noah 1-5 volumes but rest MIA

Re: Ginga Densetsu Noah in Finnish
So I was going through my Ginga "collection", and seems that the latest volume I have in Finnish is 7. I recall buying them as they were released, until they weren't. However, now I see that they have been published until the 10th volume apparently, and am confused. Like, was there some break after volume 7, and then the rest were released (that I failed to notice) up until the 10th one, and then stopped again? Sorry if this doesn't make sense, could just be that I'm not remembering something right about what I've done myself
Edit: Nvm, I've just made very weird decisions while placing the volumes on the shelf apparently, found the rest on a completely different place

Everything is fine as long as it looks like I know what I'm doing.

Is it safe to say we are not going to get rest of the series translated since it's been this long

It would be actually fucked to stop here. Like Ginga only really is popular in Finland and Japan.

Re: Ginga Densetsu Noah in Finnish
Yet another comment was posted here yesterday:
Considering how a certain other Japanese publishing company handled the whole "Sangatsu Manga moving to another parent company" situation (tldr; Shueisha just outright ghosted them and then gave the Finnish publishing rights of their series, some of which had been translated by Sangatsu Manga for years, to another company), I think I can see why they'd be a bit irate about Nichibun Comics refusing to communicate properly...Regarding Noah, we're still just waiting for the Japanese publisher to do something. To clarify, we've recently been trying various methods of reminding them that "guys, we've got an unfinished series here, will you just take our damn money already!!" (Only half-joking. That is pretty much how we're feeling.)
