Crisp HD GNG videos

I've found some clips of the GNG anime on youtube, usually with Korean subs, and they're so crisp and has much brighter colors.

And I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the full anime in this version. Doesn't matter if it's raw, with korean subs or any other subs. This version is so much better to use for color reference when making stuff in photoshop because the colors are crisp and not grainy.

You might be able to search around for 명견실버 which is the Korean GNG anime title. I know DVDs exist, not sure where exactly to buy though!

I just found a Youtube channel sharing the link to Google Drive. They also had similar link to GDW episodes in HD.

I'm not able to play my japanese dvd at the moment to compare it, but I'm sure I remember it being grainy like the VHS episodes...

Had so much work I'd forgotten to get around to this. Here's a comparison of 3 versions of GNG episode 1 I have.

This is the general video file that most people have, probably from our SFF Raw downloads

Grainy and a little blurry on some of the lines.


This one is a Japanese DVD rip. Less grain, sharper lines, colours are a little brighter


This one is from the raws in this thread. No grain, but the colours look a little oversaturated, but this seems more like a personal preference.

This is from episode 20, again on the general file most people seem to have


I don't have past episode 1 for Japanese Dvd rips, so this one is from the Korean rips in this thread


The colours on this image are clean, sharp and there's no bad interlacing between shots.

My guess is that the difference in quality is due to it having been digitally enhanced,
this is especially visible in the background of the imahe with Fuji.

The process is much the same as if you load any given imagine into ex. Adobe Illustrator,
and run it through a vectorising process.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the outcome, but hey, each to their own

Wow the colors are vibrant, if sometimes a little oversaturated. It looks awesome and crisp, and surely work better for photoshop than the grainy ones.

You can also notice here the color palette's different levels in saturation, namely in the episodes where they are on journey the colors are amazing (episode 9 during start, WOW) and during the battle against Akakabuto in episodes 17-21 and Daisuke's bear hunt in episode 4-5 the color palette is bleak and dreary, and adds to the tone which turns from an adventurous journey to a gritty battlefield like in a war film. The grainy Japanese version adds even more grittiness.

As a visual person, i love to analyze these kinds of details.

You should be able to make an account with google and download them directly from drive :p

i'm on windows & but i can't play GNG on my computer because the file type is .MKV and thats not accepted by the player i use

i can play the raw GDW anime tho since their the usual .avi
